Letters and digits only. This ID is used in text messages to uniquely identify your trial. Since you do not need the password to randomise by text message, you shouldn't make the SMS ID too obvious.

Randomisation lists

Uploading a randomisation list allows you to:

  • Stratify, e.g. by age group or centre
  • Have more than two treatment groups
  • Name your treatment groups, e.g. Placebo and Aspirin rather than A and B
  • Randomise to a code e.g. 1001, 1002,... rather than A and B. This makes the system more suited to blinded trials where the link between the codes and group is kept secret
  • Alter the allocation ratio from 1:1, e.g. can be 2:1
  • Choose your own block sizes

You can supply your own list or we can generate one for you. Our randomisation list creation tool generates blocked randomisation lists in the correct format.

Eligibility criteria

You can set inclusion and exclusion criteria. The patient must meet these eligibility criteria to be randomised.

Randomisation by text message

Allow your investigators to randomise via a simple text message! They send a text message to our central UK number and receive the randomised group back by return text. Randomisation via the website is also available so investigators can choose the method they prefer.

To enable text messaging you must choose a unique trial ID. This SMS ID is used in the text messages to identify your trial. Since you do not need the password to randomise by text message, you shouldn't make the SMS ID too obvious.
